The Coshocton Tribune,
Friday, April 01, 1938
Newcomerstown
firemen were highly commended at a dinner Wednesday night by
Mayor C.B. Mugford for their efforts in redecorating the
department rooms in the rear of the town hall.
The fish
dinner was prepared and served by the firemen, with the mayor,
members of the police force and village council, Village
Solicitor John Schlupp, Street Commissioner Fred Opphile and
Ralph Scott attending.
Short talks
were given by Councilman D.B. Moore and Cecil Haver, members of
the fire and police committee.
The dinner
was served by Edward Warner, Charles Neiderhauser and Ralph Wise
at a long table in the department truck room. A large cake, with
the names of all the firemen imprinted on it, centered the
table.
During a
business meeting held immediately after the dinner it was
reported that the recent benefit show at the Ritz Theater had
netted the department $36.70, to be used to improve the rooms.
