1st Newcomerstown Basketball Game: Friday the 13th, 1922

Friday the 13th, 1922 First High School Basketball Game Friday the 13th, 1922, was the date of the first basketball game in Newcomerstown High School. The doors of a new gymnasium, which was located in the attic of the East School, were opened for a game with Frazeysburg. The visiting team had much more experience and defeated the Trojans 36-12. The Newcomers came back strong the following week and in one of the roughest games of the season, defeated Gnadenhutten 33-34. During the season the Trojans tossed in 232 points while limiting their opponents to 188.	Sitting (left to right): Virgil Johnson, Don Sheets, and Harley Brown.
