Teachers Exchange Vows

The Daily Reporter - March 22, 1966: A double ring ceremony attended by the immediate families united in marriage Joyce D. Batsel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Batsel of Madisonville, KY and Loverne N. Marlatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Marlatt of 331 Beaver Street, Newcomerstown, OH.

The wedding took place Saturday, March 19, 1966, at 7:30 p.m. in the College Street Methodist Church in Newcomerstown with Rev. William Hewitt officiating.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a 2-piece gold suite and a white veiled hat. She carried a white orchid.

A 3-piece navy suit with matching accessories and a white carnation corsage was worn by Mrs. Dennis Belle, matron of honor. Dennis Belle was best man.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Batsel chose a green and blue plaid suit accessorized with black. Mrs. Marlatt was attired in a 2-piece navy suit with matching accessories. Both had white carnation corsages.

A cake decorated the table at the dinner held at Chase’s Restaurant in Coshocton, OH.

The bride is a graduate of Madisonville High and Western Kentucky State College. The Bridegroom was graduated by Newcomerstown High School and Ohio State University. Both are employed by the Newcomerstown Board of Education as teachers in the high school.

The couple will reside at 237 West Canal Street in Newcomerstown until June.
