Catherine Maurer

Mrs. Catherine Maurer, 78, of Baltic, died yesterday at 9 p.m. in Union Hospital where she was taken Tuesday.  She was born in Holmes County [OH] in 1879 and had resided there most of her life.

She was a daughter of August and Louise Emig Wolf and was married to John Maurer in 1901.  He died in 1944.

Surviving are four sons, Edwin of Dover, Wilbert of Zanesville, Lloyd of Newcomerstown and Alvin of Baltic;  five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Markley of this city, Mrs. Beulah Eiler of Baltic, Mrs. Selma Harrold of Dover and Mrs. Dorothy Stone and Mrs. Goldie Hill of Canton;  three brothers, John of Orrville, Sam of Millersburg, and William Snyder of Iowa City, IA;  nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. (slow time) in the Zion Evangelical Church at Baltic where she was a member.  Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Haley Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
